What makes a stronger trademark?

A mark that helps customers identify one source is generally more distinctive than wording that merely names or describes the product.

A useful spectrum

Invented and unexpected words tend to be more distinctive. Suggestive wording requires imagination. Descriptive or generic wording can be harder to distinguish.

A search is still necessary

Creative wording can still resemble an earlier mark, especially for related goods or services.
